I turned 35 last week. Here are some hard truths I learned over the years…
- Pain is a masterful teacher.
- Embrace silence & stillness to hear what’s going on internally.
- Speed is your friend - learn to make decisions faster.
- Hesitation is defeat - if you wait too long, you will lose.
- Clearly define and understand your values - they act as a decision-making filter.
- Create & adhere to boundaries in your life.
- Share your wins - no matter how small, they build confidence & positively affect other people.
- Your body is the most valuable asset you have — treat it right and it will serve you.
- Speak up - holding s**t in gets heavy and creates emotional constipation.
- Minor, consistent changes make massive differences over time.
- Adopt a go-giver mindset - ask what you can give instead of take.
- You’re as strong as the words you tell yourself.
- You have to let go in order to grow - habits, behaviors, environments, relationships that keep you stuck.
- Your kids can be an excuse you hide behind or the reason you act like.
- When life gets dark, search for the bright spots.
- Learn new skills - you’re never too old to stop growing.
- Don’t be an as***le - being nice requires the same amount of energy as being mean.
- You are capable of more - you just have to believe it.
- Intentionally do HARD things - hard work will always be a valuable characteristic.
- Ask for help - you don’t have to do it alone.
- You can’t always control your circumstances, but you can control your attitude.
- You have more to give, even when you think there’s nothing left.
- Appreciate what you love & value in life, or they depreciate by default.
- Learn to forgive - holding onto resentment carries a cost.
