So the recent yearly discussion seem to be "which broad head is best". Heres my take.....when we were young we were taught Muzzy is the best, its what we used only. Then about 8-9 years ago I switched to Rage when they became popular. First few deer I shot were devastating.....but the last few years I've lost a couple nice bucks. But every other deer I've shot in between has been amazing and deadly.....and I continued to stick up for Rage because of their deadliness when things went good. Then I started researching and going over my old insteces...... Rage can and WILL deflect when it hits any kind of bone or hard surface. It does, plain and simple.... so that, along with having Cam issues with my Bowtech I decided to go back to what I use to shoot. I bought a newer Bear bow and I went back to Muzzy (the original 3 blade 100 grain). Shot this buck last weekend, when I was finally able to get my bow drawn back on him I had a HARD quartering away shot, confident in the pe*******on of the Muzzy I put my pin where I wanted it to end up (as you can tell by the first picture), and it penetrated all the way through everything, even the lungs and the heart then getting stuck in the brisket. After my first shot (which was deadly, but I didnt know it), he presented me a 30 yard broadside shot (not knowing he was pumping out blood at the time) so I took the shot and center punched him in the lungs and he didnt make it much further than that. Long story short, I'm going to stay with the original Muzzys, if something is not broke, dont fix it. I'm confident I would have a few really nice bucks on the wall from the past if I would of stayed with Muzzy.
