The Orcas are swimming again! 🐳
USA Swimming coaches working with ages 9–12 and 8 & under (with prior competitive experience).
We’re focused on building endurance, skills, and confidence through an instructional league — plus USA Swimming–sanctioned meets (unattached under the Orcas).

This season runs now through April 31, 2026, after which swimmers move to their summer league of choice.
DM me Lindsay Shelton or comment below for information or to set up an evaluation!

Another great day at champs as our Orcas posted more PBs , several more championships and another league record. Third place in our division despite all the obstacles that had to be overcome. I am getting ready to depart for a week away but I will find some time to post results. Thanks to all our swimmers and parents for an amazing season and all your positive energy!

Day one of two at the PSFCSSL Championships is complete. Oakleaf Orcas came away with multiple personal bests in addition to two League records and several first place finishes! More to come tomorrow.

Thank you, Mrs. Burke for helping out with dryland drills for Breaststroke today. The kids learned a lot while we were waiting for the storm to pass. I am looking forward to putting those skills to use in the morning!

After talking to the staff at Cecil, we are better off cancelling rather than waiting on pins and needles. It looks like as soon as one storm clears, another will be coming before 6:30.

05/29/2025

We are going to attempt to another practice at Cecil tonight. Because of the closing policy which starts 10 minutes before 8:00 pm when the facility shuts, we will start the 6 pm group at 5:45 and the 7pm session at 6:45 ending at 7:45 in order to give everyone time dry off and clear the building. Hopefully we will get ahead of any storms that seem to be more likely at 8, but who knows?

05/28/2025

I know everyone is wondering about our schedule. As many of you already know, the storm from this Sunday did extreme damage to the adult /competition pool at phase two where we practice. There is no definite timeframe for repairs but it could be as long as two to four weeks. So we are making contingency plans and as such are asking our families to be patient and flexible. Our first and most immediate need is to get ready for this Saturday’s meet. To that end we have rented lanes at the Cecil Field Aquatics Center from 6-8 pm both Wednesday and Thursday evenings. The green and bronze groups will combine for 6 pm (something that was going to happen in June anyway)and the silver and gold will remain at 7. As for our schedule starting in June, we are working with Oakleaf to come up with a plan that would involve practicing at phase one and possibly some days at Cecil. We will have more details on this over the next two days so we do ask everyone to be patient.

This is the link to sign up for Saturday’s meet at Timuquna Country Club.

We realize that many folks have seen posts regarding the indefinite closure of the phase 2 adult/competition pool. Before everyone inundates us with messages, for at least today, we will cancel all practices. Allow myself and the coaches to speak with Oakleaf management to get a better grasp of what’s happening and plan for other options depending on the estimated time for reopening.

05/16/2025

Just an update on our upcoming swim suit fitting and swim gear purchases for this upcoming Sunday, May 18th. Please go to the phase 2 fitness center. Our fitting and purchase area is a room right next to it. Kids will still try on suits in the locker rooms down the corridor (Parents please supervise younger children). Our usual spot on the patio was previously rented for that day, but Oakleaf accommodated us with a nearby venue. 12pm-5pm. Credit/debit cards accepted as well as cash.

05/12/2025

Practice is still a go for 5:30pm!
