Hi friends,

I started a Poker Vlog!

I hope you enjoy!

Vlog Introduction - 1/2 $500 cap PLO session at Orange City Racing and Card Club - December 30th, 2022 -

12/25/2022

I'm in Tampa today at the Hard Rock playing 2/2 PLO - stop by and say hello! Currently stuck due to a bad play, but learning and growing as always.

Life is good! Be a Good Human!

11/20/2022

I'm down in Miami playing the $400 Million gaurentee - I have a short stack going into day 2, but I made it and I'm looking to build. Come by and say hello - I also go by Joey Fn Pigtails.

Wow time flies...

I'll be Vegas bound this summer! I'm planning on flying in the morning of June 14th and playing in the $1k PLO event, and then staying through the weekend to play the Millionaire Maker.

Are you heading to Vegas this summer?

01/09/2022

I've been playing a lot of Pot Limit Omaha lately - Big wins and Big Losses are now the norm. I've logged 18 hours so far this weekend - I'm gonna take a nap and possibly get another 5-7 hour session in.

For the first time in over a year, I didn't play a single hand of poker the entire weekend. And let me tell you, I feel refreshed. Invigorated. Motivated.

It's important to take breaks from time to time and just not think about poker. But remember, the grind is still there, and poker is booming right now. Cash games are plentiful, and tournaments are breaking records!

If you or someone you know is looking for a poker coach to help them get up to speed at 1/2 and 2/5 nlh, feel free to reach out and we can talk.

I'm out in Vegas right now on a little sabbatical - plexiglass barriers, masks required, and lots of sanitation...currently playing 1/3 at the Venetian waiting on PLO - Vegas is popping!

Man, I sure felt dirty this weekend.

My usual Saturday night home game kicked off like normal. It's a 1/2 $500 cap with a $5 rock.

A few hours in, I get into a hand with a buddy who has been running bad, is stuck, and is beyond tilted. He also happens to be directly on my right...

To set the stage, our villain has been opening or 3betting about 60% of his range for the past hour. This hand he's straddling to $10 on the button with the rock, and I fully expect a raise from him 100% from this position.

I'm in the small blind with 77 and limp for $10 ($1200+, I cover). A couple of players behind me limp as well, and sure enough, our Villain raises to $80 ($575ish behind). I call and the other limpers fold.

Flop is AK7r. I check to the Villain, and he quickly bets $175 by flicking out 7 green chips.

I want it all and never expect him to fold here, so I jam and he snap calls.

Our Villain quickly leans in to the table and says "You have Aces?!"

I chuckle and reply "No" and flip over my 77.

To my horror, Villain quickly turns over KK.

I start cutting out chips with my left hand and making a finger gun with my right hand as an A comes on the turn.

As the dealer begins to flip the river over, I shoot my finger gun and the last 7 appears!

My finger gun quickly turns into a fist and races to my mouth as I try and cover the biggest sh*t-eating grin I've had in a decade, and another massive pot is shoved my way...

I'm considering opening another week night up for coaching - If you are looking for constructive feedback from an experienced/studied player, shoot me a message and we can talk.

While I am not actively seeking more students at this time, I do want to share my new project: A poker Vlog! I know I have a lot of improvements to make with future episodes, but I'm pretty proud of myself for getting this done without any prior Video editing experience.

Episode #1 is linked, and I'll be putting together episode 2 with hands I played/play this weekend. I'm hoping to have some footage from tonight's home game included, but I have not yet received the okay to film in Orange City. Hopefully that comes soon.

A like and subscribe helps a lot!

I know it's been a while since I've posted; I'm still here! My play time has been hit or miss due to obligations to students and projects, but I've been around a little bit.

I foresee some availability in my schedule and I've been talking with other coaches about models, so I'm looking to take on one student on a per diem basis. It basically works like this:

We'll meet for a couple hours before your next session to talk about your experience so we can set some guidelines and goals. You play for about 4 hours with me nearby to ask questions between hands. If you have a winning session, we split the winnings. If you lose, which will happen often, you owe nothing. We'll then talk for about an hour post session for additional coaching

If this sounds like the plan for you and you are looking to improve your game, hit me up and we can look at availability.

Are you playing to your potential?

Bluffing is a major part of poker, but it shouldn't ever be a random act of aggression. When we bluff, we do it because we can either represent a specific type of hand or have picked up on a pattern and are exploiting people.

This is important as I literally just experienced a phenomenon. I was in the Big Blind of a $1/$2 cash game at MGM Grand in Vegas. Literally my first hand played. Effective stacks are $300 for me and about $260 for the Villain.

UTG+1 opens to $20 (This is a massive size for this game), UTG+2 calls, and it folds to me and I look down at KcKd and 3 bet (reraise) to $80). UTG+1 calls, the other folds.

Flop is Ac Jc 4s. I continuation bet $80 into $180, and the other guy jams all in for about $180 total. I'm getting 4.4:1 to call, so I do. The guy instantly mucked his cards, grabs his bag, and walks out. And there are still 2 cards to come...

I'm still in shock...lol
