Man, I sure felt dirty this weekend.
My usual Saturday night home game kicked off like normal. It's a 1/2 $500 cap with a $5 rock.
A few hours in, I get into a hand with a buddy who has been running bad, is stuck, and is beyond tilted. He also happens to be directly on my right...
To set the stage, our villain has been opening or 3betting about 60% of his range for the past hour. This hand he's straddling to $10 on the button with the rock, and I fully expect a raise from him 100% from this position.
I'm in the small blind with 77 and limp for $10 ($1200+, I cover). A couple of players behind me limp as well, and sure enough, our Villain raises to $80 ($575ish behind). I call and the other limpers fold.
Flop is AK7r. I check to the Villain, and he quickly bets $175 by flicking out 7 green chips.
I want it all and never expect him to fold here, so I jam and he snap calls.
Our Villain quickly leans in to the table and says "You have Aces?!"
I chuckle and reply "No" and flip over my 77.
To my horror, Villain quickly turns over KK.
I start cutting out chips with my left hand and making a finger gun with my right hand as an A comes on the turn.
As the dealer begins to flip the river over, I shoot my finger gun and the last 7 appears!
My finger gun quickly turns into a fist and races to my mouth as I try and cover the biggest sh*t-eating grin I've had in a decade, and another massive pot is shoved my way...
I'm considering opening another week night up for coaching - If you are looking for constructive feedback from an experienced/studied player, shoot me a message and we can talk.
