Today, I had a conversation with a friend about some significant changes on the horizon. I found myself feeling nervous, even terrified. My friend listened attentively and, at one point, paused to place her hand on my shoulder, saying, "You don't have to do it alone."

In that gentle pause, she reminded me of a lesson I share daily with my clients. It was a comforting reminder that I am not alone in this journey. There is an abundance of support and help available.

I take pride in being present and available for my clients, ensuring they never have to face challenges alone. Hearing those words from my friend reinforced my commitment to this principle.

Some days healing looks like doing the work.

Some days it looks like lying on the floor, taking a breath, and allowing yourself to be held by the moment.

This afternoon, we paused.

We rested.

We softened.

And for a little while, no one needed to have all the answers.

Just a room full of women giving themselves permission to exhale.

Healing doesn't always require effort.

Sometimes it begins with a pause, a breath, and the gentle reminder that you don't have to carry everything alone.

Leaving a high-control religious system changes more than beliefs.
It changes the way you see yourself, trust yourself, move through relationships, make decisions, and feel safe in your own life.

For many women, leaving Mormonism is only the beginning of reclaiming autonomy, identity, emotional safety, and inner authority.

This conversation is deeply personal to me. After years of supporting women through chronic stress, trauma recovery, nervous system overwhelm, and self-reclamation, I’m beginning to speak more openly about the lived realities many of us carried silently for decades.

If you’ve left and still feel:
• disconnected from yourself
• unsure how to trust your own instincts
• overwhelmed by freedom and choice
• exhausted from survival mode
• or afraid to fully become who you are…

You are not broken.
And you are not alone.

Healing is not just leaving.
Healing is learning how to safely belong to yourself again.

If you’re looking for compassionate, grounded support as you rebuild your life, I’d be honored to walk beside you.

In this episode of Be Mental Podcast, we explore overthinking — what it really is, why it happens, and how it quietly pulls us away from the present moment.
We talk about how overthinking often feels like being trapped in loops of replaying the past or trying to predict and control the future. The mind keeps running, searching for certainty, answers, or relief, while the body stays stuck in stress and tension.
Together, we explore the idea that overthinking is not a flaw or weakness, but often a protective response. The mind tries to create safety by analysing everything, solving emotions with logic, and preparing for outcomes that may never happen.
In this conversation, we discuss:

Why overthinking feels so difficult to switch off
The connection between anxiety, uncertainty, and control
How the body signals when we are disconnected from ourselves
Why presence matters more than more thinking
Simple grounding tools to return to the moment
Learning to observe thoughts without following every one of them

This episode is a reminder that overthinking does not mean something is wrong with you. Often, it means something inside of you is trying to feel safe.
You do not have to stop every thought. You just do not have to follow all of them. Welcome to "Be Mental". The phrase "be mental" often comes with a negative connotation, describing how it feels when everything in your head is a mess. We thought the idea could become a mantra for positive change in your thinking, managing emotions, and handling stress to name just a few. As healers and coaches we have worked hard so that Be Mental can exist to create honest, compassionate conversations that explore the depth of the human experience—blending emotional healing, practical insight, and lighthearted connection to help people understand themselves and feel less alone. We envision a world where people feel safe to explore their inner world openly, heal without shame, and grow into their most authentic and empowered selves
In this second episode we share more of our individual stories and how we came to working with other to create real conversations for healing, understanding, and growth—with compassion, insight, and humour. Get to know us!
