See something, say something!

The FIFA World Cup 2026 ⚽️ is just days away, the FBI is warning Houstonians and visitors to stay alert as more than HALF A MILLION people are expected to flood the city.

The biggest concern is the threat of “lone offenders” — individuals acting alone to carry out violent attacks in crowded areas.

ATTENDING THE GAMES:
Stay aware of your surroundings and stay tactically conscious.

Know where conventional and unconventional exits are located.

Report suspicious behavior.

Be mindful of suspicious items that don’t belong.

Distance is your friend, run-hide-fight.

Teen Takeovers

Let me hear your suggestions?

Teens blocking intersections, taking over public areas and business districts, large fights breaking out, groups running through businesses, theft and destruction of property. These events have escalated into assaults, stabbings, shootings and car jackings.

Their actions not only waste law enforcement resources and time but result in no serious consequences because they are juveniles. If caught they are slapped on the wrist with a trespassing charge at best or a written citation. What message does that send to the businesses, employees, residents and patrons?

There is no real deterrent and there are no lessons learned for them. Actually the trespass charge serves as a badge of honor or street cred.

These actions need serious consequences and I have my own old school thoughts including charging them as adults (let me pick 30 of my former colleagues and we’d respond anywhere and fix it quickly) …..but if they can’t be effectively charged criminally and held accountable they should be required to complete a minimum of 100 hours of community service. There is plenty of trash to be picked up, landscaping to be addressed, and graffiti to be removed in public areas. I don’t care if it’s in the heat, cold, or rain. In addition, immediately suspend their drivers license if they have one or block them from obtaining one until their community service is complete.

Prefer mid-depth seating close to exit to assist with emergency. This distance also provides for a reactionary gap should a threat appear at the cockpit. Seat selection must have strong arm side toward aisle to enable direct disabling of the threat.

Immediately after a self-defense incident, you will need to make quick observations and decisions about whether there are other people around who might hurt you, help you or need your help. You must also identify a position of dominance, cover or even an escape route. While going through this assessment, continue to move, communicate, and be mindful of your muzzle control if a weapon was used. Lastly, the weapon remaining in your hand when first responders arrive is your greatest liability. If safe to do so, cover the weapon and communicate. Stay safe!

Great group of safety minded warriors tonight! Covered many security awareness topics but the Defensive Pen is my favorite defensive tool to teach the average citizen. With a proper combat mindset the steel shafted pen is not only highly effective but it can be carried anywhere.

May is National Military appreciation month. Honor our active/retired veterans and first responders by expressing deep gratitude for their courage, sacrifice, and dedication to defending our community and freedom. 🇺🇸 They are out in our community daily, find one and randomly show your appreciation by random acts of kindness. Buy their meal or pay for a haircut. I’ve never known a first responder who didn’t need a part-time job to make ends meet.

This is based on my professional and personal experience.

Most caretakers are professional and honest but it’s your responsibility regardless of the level of trust you have developed with the individual caretaker or agency to protect your family’s interests. Don’t be foolhardy! Using an accredited agency that is licensed, bonded, and insured IS NOT ENOUGH, take action and control.

Key Theft Prevention Strategies:

Secure Valuables: Secure all jewelry, cash, checkbooks, items of value, and sensitive documents.

Inventory Your Home: Create a detailed, photographed inventory of valuables to quickly detect missing items.

Monitor Financial Activity: Regularly review bank statements, credit card bills, and account activity for unusual activity.

Install Security Cameras: Use cameras in common areas. Ensure you follow state laws regarding surveillance and audio recording.

Limit Access: Lock private rooms (such as the master bedroom) and keep medicines in a locked cabinet.

Monitor Medications: Keep a log of prescriptions, especially narcotics, and monitor daily doses, as these are common targets for theft.
