Surviving the next two weeks....
1. Don't start a "diet" the week before Christmas, you'll just make yourself and everyone around you miserable.
2. Moderation: If you want that piece of pie on Christmas eat it, just don't eat like an idiot all week. Enjoying Christmas Day and New Year's Eve isn't going to ruin your life. Indulging the entire week will most definitely set you back.
3. If you do choose to make a New Year's resolution regarding your fitness level make your goals reasonable and obtainable.
4. Ask for help, I know a guy that would be happy to talk to you.
