Oologah Soccer would like to say a huge thank you to someone who truly embodies what community is all about. Lucas’s dedication, passion, and love for the game of soccer does not go unnoticed. ⚽️
From refereeing and focusing on his own soccer career, to stepping up and coaching younger kids and teaching them the fundamentals, Lucas is making a lasting impact on so many lives. He’s not just helping grow skills—he’s building confidence, teamwork, and a love for the sport.
Our community is stronger because of people like him. Thank you Lucas, for everything you do both on and off the field! 🙌
This week's Coach Brown Spotlight Student of the Week is Lucas Livingston! Lucas is a Senior at Oologah High School and is the son of Richard and Melissa Livingston. Lucas is a shifty, quick, and athletic defender for the Oologah Soccer Team and also starred for the Mustang Cross Country Squad! Livingston was nominated by Head Soccer Coach Lindsay Tackitt.
Coach Tackitt thinks a lot of Lucas and appreciates all that he brings on and off the pitch for the soccer program saying, “Lucas has been a huge asset to the varsity team for the past 3 years and has stepped up into a captain role this season, leading our back line. He’s a versatile athlete with a great attitude bringing a focused and determined mindset each and every game. I’m also incredibly proud of Lucas for sharing his passion for the game by coaching a youth soccer team!” When asked what he liked best about Coach Tackitt, Lucas said,”She makes sure that we stay on track at practice, not too much messing around but not restricted from having fun. She was also my freshman English teacher, and it's not my fault the outlet exploded when I plugged my computer in!”😂 Lucas’s favorite teacher is Mrs. Kohler from 2nd Grade! “She was just the best teacher ever. In 8th Grade, I went back and was her student aid for a semester. I’m happy there are people like her willing to grade so much work”, Lucas stated.
Lucas’s hero is his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! When explaining why, he said the following, “He’s who I strive to be like everyday. Following Him is a complete choice of your own which shows His love because what is true love if not a choice!”
Lucas’s favorite restaurant is “Raising Caines” and his go-to order is the Box Combo, no slaw, and extra toast! In his free time, Lucas loves being the Head Coach of his 10U Soccer Team. In the future, he plans on going to college and studying criminal justice and business. After college, he wants to pursue a career in law enforcement.
It’s students like Lucas that make Oologah High School an amazing place! Keep up the good work!
