THANK YOU! Thank you for these 12-10 year olds for taking the families and friends on an unforgettable baseball ride. These coaches and players just did something no other 10u RHLL team has done, reached the State tournament Quaterfinals hosted in Petoskey, MI!
For those unfamiliar with the Little League tournament format, in order to reach the State tournament you must win your District tournament. These boys won their 2nd District title in just 3 years (8u and now 10u), another accomplishment that is the 1st in RHLL history. Teams from all over the state participate in districts, only 16 advance to the State tournament. Our boys made it to the Elite 8, losing to a very good opponent out of Grosse Pointe!
Thank you Coach Keith H, you were willing to go against the grain of youth baseball by creating this team at 8u with a blank canvas to compete in Little League events and travel tournament events, giving these kids an experience that hasn't ever occurred in our city! There are tons of travel baseball tournaments hosted every weekend in the spring and summer that anyone can sign up for as long as they can pay the registration fee, what your team just accomplished by EARNING their way to the State tournament is a core memory and something these young fells will remember FOREVER! We as your Raptor family are proud to call you one of our coaches, not just because of the success on field but because your mission is much bigger than any game, it is to pour into these kids lives to make them better humans, while playing the best game on the planet bringing JOY to their lives. While you did not do it alone and had a great staff behind you, you built this culture that is missing in most baseball programs now and we are forever thankful to call you one of ours!
To these families, you should feel proud as parents for the way your sons competed and how they handled adversity along the way. Your sacrifices to get them to all of the practices, games, extra training sessions, driving last minute to Petoskey to take time off work.. THANK YOU! Knowing how competitive and passionate they are, we hate knowing how sad their hearts feel today. BUT, we know this moment will make them better ball players and humans and will be a story that is part of their journey forever!
Cheers to our 10u RHLL All Stars!!
