Due to low attendance and the weather forecast we will be closing at 2:30. We will be open for night pool tonight from 6:30 to 8:30, we hope to see you all there!!

The City of Onawa is giving back to residents --with FREE SUNDAY NIGHT SWIM. This is FREE for all ages--beginning June 7th. 6:30-8:30 p.m. The broken valve set us back a couple of weeks so we were unable to open as soon as school was out. We want our community to be able to enjoy the pool as often as possible this summer! 🏊‍♂️🌞

Water aerobics start tomorrow, Wednesday June 10th at 5:00 p.m. Instructor Elizabeth Sturgill will be utilizing these water weights more than pool noodles this year. A generous donor provided these new weights to the pool in 2025.
Other classes are Thursdays and Fridays at 10:30 a.m.

Happy Sunday! Our water test is all good . However thunderstorms are expected to roll in this afternoon. We will be open tomorrow, Monday, June 8 at 1:30 p.m. for public swim! See you all soon!

Bright blue water ! Things are looking great on our end. The water samples went to Sioux City this morning. We may hear back on results tomorrow . Staff are just as excited as you all to get open! Thanks to our generous City Council members we will also be announcing FREE SWIM times. Stay tuned!

Great news: The pool is full, and chemicals are flowing. The water temperature climbed 10 degrees in 24 hours which means heaters are working great and the water leak has lessened dramatically. Once chemicals look good on our end we will take a water sample to Sioux City. Once that is approved we can open.
Just know Onawa City Staff are continuing to work hard to get open very soon!
Managers are working through swim lesson registrations now and will be contacting families for public and private in the upcoming days. Reminder that public lessons begin June 15th.
