Sorry folks we’ve been on hiatus. Life events came up and we are dealing with them. The show will go on! Just gonna take some navigating!
Quick note on Last Saturday from Schutz:
Pathetic. No not apathy from me. Severe disappointment and disbelief. This is the most mentally weak performance I’ve ever witnessed. Players played hard (not smart) but hard. The play calling was atrocious on offense. A commitment to absolutely nothing. Well if you count having Martinez run around, throw wildly and run for dear life…then yes we’ve seen this for four years now. That fumble sucked the life outta the team. There was no commitment to the ground game or to impose will. STOP!!!!!!! Don’t defend it with, well we fell down by three touchdowns! Yes! Because we opened up tossing all over the yard in the second half, while it was a one score game! It was garbage. At least lubick said they were prepared for the front they faced! The problem is he didn’t answer why it didn’t work. First sign of trouble we toss all over the yard with a QB that looked rattled and uncomfortable. Where was these great receivers? Where was the all American TE?
Ladies and gents…..this is becoming abundantly clear it’s Frost. You got captains making mistakes they teach Jr. High kids not to do. Where to even begin with special teams…..Dumbfounding! Perhaps they could ask for pop Warner rules where punts are walked off 25 yards, no returns. Extra points count 2. Scrimmage 1, field goals 4.
Bottom line. No discipline…anywhere. Was the roughing questionable, sure I’ll bite! Then you taunt the QB afterwards? It’s called a patient flag….you watch the results of the play. It was stupid! And the defense fell apart, it collapsed when 2 fumbled! Mentally weak! This is not a rip on the players when you have a coaching staff that looks just as flustered, delayed adjustments in the second half on D. An offense that is ALL over the board with a commitment to nothing.
Meanwhile across the field an experienced coach remained calm when his 1qb went down. Stayed true to the run game and it payed off…..threw in efficient passing 13 of 16 from a 2QB that had 8 td and 20 int to his name! Let that sink in! Committed to who they were and what they were going to do! After the game Bret Belima said it all SMUGLY! “We knew the only person on the team that could beat us was #2” First year coach with a brand new system…..schooled a 4 year system and staff, with better players!
Do I think Scott should go? No. I don’t think it matters. I think his ego will end him! Do I think the season is over? No. I’m sure it will be a feel good weekend this Saturday! Honestly! The concern is if I said to you Nebraska won by a touchdown would you be surprised? Even worse can you 100 percent without a doubt commit they don’t lose from the bottom of your heart and mind? Most can’t! Buckle up! More to come soon with Schutz and BOOM!
