Are you planning to go camping at Bow Creek, Green Island, or Goat Island? This is a friendly reminder that all overnight campers on Missouri National Recreational River properties must obtain a free camping permit.

A permit must be filled out using the online form on our website or by visiting the park office located at 508 E 2nd St, Yankton, SD 57078. The office is open Monday through Friday from 8am-4:30pm.

Your permit will be approved once it is submitted. Your permit does not reserve a campsite. However, it provides us with important information like your itinerary, your contact information, and more. Filling out the form can take a few minutes and can make a huge difference in the event of an emergency when every second counts.

Join us for another FREE kayak clinic this Wednesday, July 12 at Lake Yankton from 9am - 12pm. All equipment is provided! Learn the basics of kayaking and have a great time as we learn, practice our skills, and have fun out on the water. These clinics are offered every week, so if you can't make it this time, we'd love to see you a different Wednesday!

The clinic is geared towards beginners, but all levels are welcome. You must be 10 or older to be in a kayak alone, and ages 5-9 must be accompanied by an adult in one of our tandem kayaks.

RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED, so if you would like to join, please call us at 605-665-0209 ext. 21 to make a reservation. We will provide more details after you make the reservation. We hope to see you there!
