Here are some photos from the MavPuck.com Golf Classic, which was held for three years in the early 2000s. ⛳️🏒

MavPuck member Matt Richeson (who is no longer with us) organized the event at Chili Greens (where UNO’s baseball/softball complex is currently located).

The event featured lunch, hole prizes, and an awards ceremony afterwards. 🥇

He put it together because he wanted something that rank-and-file UNO Hockey fans could enjoy. It was a lot of fun. He did a great job.

Maybe we should bring it back… 🤔

(received via email at 7 p.m. on Friday, March 27)

Dear Blue Line Club Member,

For nearly three decades, the Blue Line Club has played an essential role in supporting Omaha Hockey. Your commitment and generosity have helped shape the program, enhance student-athlete experiences, and build a strong and lasting hockey community.

As this season has ended and we look ahead to the upcoming season, we want to share that there will be a transition in how the Blue Line Club membership is structured moving forward. This change is part of a broader effort to strengthen support for Omaha Hockey and position the program for success in the years to come.

Beginning with the upcoming One Fund Drive, the Blue Line Club (BLC) will officially be integrated into the One Fund, creating a unified and strengthened approach to supporting Omaha Hockey. This decision was made in collaboration with the University of Nebraska Foundation, Omaha Athletics, and Blue Line Club Board to ensure full alignment and a shared vision for the future. The previously known Hockey One Fund category will be renamed the Blue Line Club Fund. This new structure will help maximize its impact and continue building a program capable of returning to the Frozen Four.

Many of the membership features and experiences you value will continue, though there will be some adjustments as the new program evolves with enhancements to the overall program. As part of this overall transition, at this time, there is no Blue Line Club John Talcott Golf Outing currently scheduled. The One Fund will keep this group up to date with any updates or future developments.

One immediate change is that there will no longer be a Blue Line Club Board as the program will be run by the University of Nebraska Foundation. However, we have been heavily involved in ensuring the spirit of the Blue Line Club continues in the new format.

While more detailed information will be shared next week from the University of Nebraska Foundation, we want to ensure you are aware that updates are coming. We are committed to making this transition as smooth as possible and to continuing the traditions and experiences that make this Blue Line Club community so special.

If you have any questions about this transition or what it may mean for your membership, please don't hesitate to reach out to CJ Mitchell, Director of the One Fund via email or phone at [email protected] or 402-502-4094. We are also happy to provide additional information and support along the way.

Thank you again for your continued support of Omaha Hockey!

Sincerely,

The Blue Line Club Board
