2026 is the first year of the GPR Scholarship program for graduating seniors who are current GPR members either as an athlete, coach or official. All applicants were required to submit an application, letter of recommendation from a coach or club director, and a cover letter explaining why they are a good candidate to receive the scholarship. All eligible candidates were selected via random draw at the GPR Board Meeting last week, and we are excited to announce this year’s GPR Scholarship recipients:

Blake Burbach played club for High Flyers and Lincoln East in the GPR Boys League, and will be attending William Penn University this fall where he will continue his volleyball career and major in Education (English).

Kathryn VanSkiver played club for Nebraska Juniors, and will be attending University of Saint Mary this fall where she will continue her volleyball career and major in Secondary Education with minors in Coaching & Art.

Kevin Trejo-Orea played for Omaha Bryan in the GPR Boys League, and will be attending UNO this fall where he will be pursuing a degree in the Mental Health field.

Payton Sullivan played club for South Central, and will be attending Wayne State College this fall where she will continue her volleyball career and major in Communications with a minor in Sports Media.
