Prior to leaving town before the storm, I had Scoot on the river.

Unfortunately, he just missed 10 feet of the fresh stuff, but he did manage his first bow, brown and whitie, before heading back to FL.

His only time previously with a fly rod was in Yellowstone chasing cutties. We didn't find any big ones, but adding three new species and a Slam to the resume is pretty sweet.

See you next time, Scott 👊

Our boy Lucas has been on a tear lately.

He's going hard down the trout spey rabbit hole and is a natural caster with very few hours under his belt so far.

We committed to it most of the day, and although we didn't get blanked, the swing bite was slow.

So, ocassinally, we pulled out the bobber rod and went to town on them. It got a big crazy there for a while. He also went home with his first Truckee slam🤘👊

See you soon Lucas, hell of a job out there!

Redemption in the Creek.

Three years ago, I first fished this creek with . Although most of the creek fishing is stalking and sight fishing, ocassinally the best option is from the boat.

It was there that I missed a giant with an upstream cast, downstream strip, and a downstream eat at lightning speed. I never had a chance to get tight on that fish. Sometimes, they just win.

That moment has played over and over again my head.

Fast forward to a few weeks ago, and I got my redemption fish in the same run. This time, I got tight (barely😄) and had the pleasure of landing my fish of the trip.

I have several more updates from this adventure, but this one I just had to share.

Thanks for another amazing day if Creekin' 👊

I've been quieter than normal on social the last few months. Fishing trips, family trips and and a wild work schedule will do that.

That said, I recently got to fish one of my longest running guests for the first time in a while. Tom and I were trying to do the math on when we first conmected. Needless to say, it was a long time ago. His kids were in his school, and now he's a grandpa.

Anyway, I gave him the option of throwing dries or dredging the canyon for a nice brown. He said, "You pick!".

An hour later, we managed a to out a really nice fish in the net. It was great to reconnect with an old friend and tell fish stories for a few hours.

See you next time on a salt flat Tom👊

Another Sawmill Lake clinic is in the books with 🙌🙌

We had a great crew of local, deserving youth on the water thanks to our friends at donating the lake.

Fish were caught, fish were lost, and there were smiles all around👍

Thank you to all the mentors, volunteers, and guides who made this a great day for all the kids.

Like usual, and provided the new gear for kids to take home🙏👊

Our boy has a few last min openings for his redfish trip in September.

It's the same trip we did last year with , and it was 🤯🤯

If NOLA redfish have been on your list, drop me a note. I'll connect the dots👌
