We’re back in Swink as school track & field records continue to fall.

Rio Jensen a sophomore from Swink, broke not only one but two school records in the last two weeks of competition.
At the Lamar Thunder Invitational she broke the previous school record of 12:27.84 in the 3200m with a time of 12:22.93.
Then at the John Tate track meet she set her sights on the 1600m school record of 5:43.77, and again carved her name in the record book with a time of 5:39.19.

Another school record goes down, this time it’s at Swink High School. Junior Javin Summers breaks the Swink boys long jump record, with a jump of 22’ 4 1/2”, at the 2026 Santa Fe League Meet in Rocky Ford on Monday. Summers is the defending 1A State Long Jump Champion and will look to defend his title in May.
Summers was also the 2026 Santa Fe League Champion in the high jump and triple jump with a personal best jump of 6’ 6” and in High Jump and 43’ 1” in the triple jump. Congratulations and best of luck on the rest of your season.

Two school records were broken on Saturday at the 2026 Lamar Thunder Invitational. Three freshman, Tristyn White, Bristyl Barratt, Tinley Leake, and sophomore Rylee Wyckoff broke the school record in the 4x100 relay earlier in the meet with a new time of 53:23.
Later in the 4x400 they did it again, setting a new record time of 4:17:77. The future is very bright for Cheraw Lady Wolverines Track & Field! Congratulations!

Delaney Bond, former Cheraw Wolverine, is making history in her freshman year of track at Kansas Wesleyan University. Bond has broken the school record in the 600m, running a 1:38:11. She then went on to run a 1:00:50 in the 400m, which puts her in 2nd in school history in that event.
A week before Bond and her teammates broke another school record in the Women’s 4x400, running a time of 4:08.48!
Bond holds several school records at Cheraw High School and has several State Championships in multiple events throughout her high school career.

Delaney Bond ran a school record in the 600, running 1:38.11! She followed up with a 1:00.50 in the 400 to put her second in school history, respectively, in that event. What a day for the Freshman!
