A day late on my GRIT Grind for the week, but wanted to give a shout-out to JWU PVD Field Hockey they are the epitome of GRIT! They practice hard, they play hard and they never quit. I wish you the best of luck in the last game of your regular season tomorrow @ Regis and good luck in playoffs!

GRIT Grind: athletes and parents take notes. This is one of the most important things you can teach. Happy Monday!

GRIT Grind: as we start the first full week of October, you’re probably through the first half of your season. How’d you do? Reflect, evaluate and set goals, there’s still time to make a change. Good luck!

Also, don’t forget this month is breast cancer awareness, if you don’t know something who had breast cancer, I’m sure they did. Okay for those who can’t!

GRIT Grind: today was a day… Monday - back to your regular scheduled programming! Classes, workout, practice grind… however family comes first and when they need you don’t EVER feel bad for choosing them over your sport.

GRIT Grind: a little late on this Monday but got it in! Kids off to school, workout in, house clean and some self reflection! It’s always good to reflect and write things down. Have a great week!

GRIT Grind: as an athlete, the best way to grow is to be uncomfortable. And that’s not just on the field or court, that’s in the classroom with speaking in public or asking questions. You need to get comfortable with being uncomfortable.

Another great repost Reformed Sports Project this couldn’t be more true - having been a division 1 student athlete and then a division 3 coach this is so true.

Next Up thanks for sharing this! The proof is in the pudding.

Did you know that Coach Saban left one of his most talented players standing on the sideline for most of the game last night? Why would he do that? Because attitude matters. Work ethic matters. Being a good teammate matters. Doing things the right way matters. That young man learned more about life last night than he would have had he played every play. FYI, this picture was tweeted by the young man’s father, with the caption “awesome picture.” He gets it.

GRIT Grind: why do you play? Is it for yourself? Are your parents influencing your decision to play or not to play? Is it because you think you’ll get a scholarship? Whatever the reason, just make sure that your happiness is not at risk!
