Congrats to Nick Drymalski for becoming the first 5-time DC RallyCross MR champion, beating me for the second straight year :/..to celebrate, we gave him the RX version of the Gatorade Cooler dump. And no, those were not empty bottles...

It's been a quiet year as we are taking a bit of time off stage rally for a variety of reasons. But Josh still managed to get out and do some rally crossing down in west va. Near Ohio at the SCCA national challenge event. After leading through the first session the rains came and the guys with fancy rallycross mud tires caught up and he ended up third. But at least there were some cool pictures by Zimmermann

Finally got back into the rallycross thing last weekend, with a DC RallyCross doubleheader at Panthera. This time we used the really big, really fast course that we haven't used in years, complete with the big hillclimb section. On day 2 also had Dirty Industries Eric co-driving since his car was out of action. Drove really fast all weekend, but a bit less precise than usual and some cheap cone hits cost me. On Day 1 took 2nd behind reigning champ Nick D. in the M3....lost by 3.7 seconds even with 8 cones (Nick only had 1!), so had the best raw time by 12 secs. On Day 2 Mike Palacznski came out of nowhere and drove like a madman for his first-ever event win by 10 seconds over Nick and me 5 seconds further back. So I took 3rd. Mike P finished 17 seconds back of me on Day, so you never know who's gonna "have it" on any given day. Anyhow, that leaves me still in 2nd in season points, so will try to clean it up next time. Happy birthday to our favorite rally friends Nonack ANY% . She was one of the first people we met and raced against when we first started doing stage rally stuff, And we are super happy that she still talks to us even though she is big-time now! :)

We didn't know her that well, just friendly smiles and hellos in passing, but very sad to hear about the passing of another member of the rally community (not due to rally, this time). RIP Alison

Heartbroken 💔 Alison LaRoza was one of the brightest shining lights we knew! She was a blessing to the USA rally community. Alison first stayed with us, when she trained in 2016. From that time, we were close friends and lucky to always enjoy her smile! We love you Alison! We will miss you so much. Alison passed away today, after a short sickness. Our heart aches for Steve and all of Alison’s family. RIP 💔 Our rally community is devastated again

Well, as we wrap up 2023 I'll apologize for lacking in content - after our DNF at Bristol (still fun), the first rallycross season off the class podium in over a decade (sometimes fun), and the death of our good friend Erin (the worst thing that happened this year, for me), it's hard to say too many good things about this year from a rally perspective, I suppose - and I've been less in the mood. On the upside, Jim picked up my slack by finishing three rallies with Kevin Brolin in the Mudwhale e30, including a podium finish at NEFR, and I've been making some progress on some other automotive projects/interests, if not doing much on the rally car other than replacing the engine after Bristol lol.

Hoping for a better 2024, which will kick off with some crewing action for me (and Jim?) at Sno-Drift with Andrew and Julia in the Subie. Of course I'll run a full DC rallycross season, and we'll see what comes in terms of stage rally - probably Susquehannock Trail Performance Rally (STPR), but it's all up in the air at the moment.

In any case, hope you all have an excellent New Year's and we'll see you on the other side.

Been remiss at posting recently...other stuff going on. But wanted to give a big congrats to our friends Chris and Sara (ANY%) for another podium finish at LSPR with a 2nd place in L2WD, and Jim called the notes once again for Kevin Brolin in the Mudwhale e30 and they finished a solid 4th place. And of course Dylan and Ben, who managed to win NA4WD even with only 3 (?) of their gears functional...

After almost 15 years of trusty service, our ridiculously heavy harbor freight Pittsburgh floor jack with the no-longer-available T-handle finally blew it seals. RIP.
