Today we pause to remember what Memorial Day is about.

We honor the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country, and we also remember the horses who served beside them throughout history.

Freedom comes at a cost, and we are truly grateful for the freedoms we have — the freedom to ride, to gather, to enjoy the open air, and to share quiet moments at the farm with the horses, and people, we love.

We do not take that lightly.

We hope everyone is staying cool! ☀️🐴

Just a reminder that Legacy Riding Stables will not be open for business today, Wednesday, May 20th, due to the ongoing heat wave.

During hot weather, horse care often means slowing down the day, offering plenty of water, watching the herd closely, and using safe cooling methods when needed — including a gentle hose-down to help rinse off sweat and cool the body.

Around here, caring well sometimes means cooling off, taking the easier day, and giving the horses the comfort they deserve.

Thank you for understanding and supporting the care of our herd.

We are always looking for opportunities to continue learning, growing, and bringing fresh ideas, training, and perspective back to our riders and horses here at Legacy.
