Long Island Roller Rebels

Long Island Roller Rebels Long Island’s first WFTDA sanctioned roller derby league, skating since 2005! The All Stars compete for international rankings with WFTDA.

The Roller Rebels have a travel team who represents Long Island in competitive interleague play. In addition to the skaters, league members also include referees and non-skating officials (NSOs) who help keep chaos at bay. Their duties range from tracking lineups, scores, the penalty box, stats, officiating game play and setting up the track. The league also receives crucial support from a host of dedicated volunteers such as announcers, EMTs, trainers and photographers.

REBELS SEA SQUAD HYPE! We had a blast skating with yesterday and also visiting Mystic Aquarium while we were in town. It was nice to give our mascot Clawdeen time to see her aquatic friends and family! Excellent game, excellent opponents, and excellent marine mammals! Now to get ready for our next home game on May 30! SEA you there!!!

Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms, stepmoms, chosen moms, pet moms, mentors, caregivers, and nurturing humans in our league and community! ❤️ 💙 💜 💖 💗

Today can hold a lot of different feelings whether it be celebration, grief, gratitude, longing, or joy. We're thinking of you regardless!

Shoutout to the many moms on our team who somehow manage to juggle life, caregiving, and work, while still showing up for this sport and this community with so much heart. To everyone who supports, protects, uplifts, and cares for others both on and off the track, you help make this league what it is and we thank you.

The Rebels had a blast squaring off against each other at our season opener: Goths vs. Rainbows! Congratulations to Team Goths for scoring the win, and congratulations to ALL our skaters for some amazing work on the track! Also, of course, thanks to all the refs, NSOs, bench staff, EMTs, volunteers, vendors...and you, the fans! It takes a lot of folks to make these bouts look as cool as they do!
