What a week for the Phenom boys in Gulf Shores, AL!
The boys faced some tough competition all week, finishing pool play in 6th place it earned them a spot in the championship bracket. After an early loss the Phenom boys would have to fight their way back through the losers bracket, therefore we knew Saturday was going to be a challenge. Not only were the teams tough, but that Gulf Shores humidity was no joke—something us Oklahomans aren't exactly used to!
Saturday morning these boys showed everyone what they're made of. They battled through three back-to-back games, winning the first two before falling in the semifinals to the only team that beat them all week—and that team went on to win the entire tournament. The boys finished with an impressive 3-2-1 record and brought home a 3rd place finish while representing Oklahoma and Phenom Baseball the right way.
While the baseball was great, some of the best memories happened off the field. Pool days, birthday dinners, rainout adventures, late-night laughs, and time spent together helped build friendships and bonds that will last long after this tournament is over. That's what makes travel baseball and this team so special.
A huge thank you to our coaches for the countless hours they put in preparing these young men to compete. Your dedication, patience, and leadership do not go unnoticed. Thank you for being great role models and helping these boys grow not only as baseball players, but as young men.
Super proud of this group and everything they accomplished this week. Safe travels home to all of our players, coaches, and families. Get some rest, enjoy the summer, and before we know it, fall ball will be here!
