I have been a Zumba instructor for 2 years now. I have a background of dance for 16 years in all types of Latin dance. I started a new team of instructors for the Lansing Area called LIA (Latin Instructors Association). We are a very energetic group and very excited to skake it with you! My team instructs at Element Gym in Okemos as well as both locations of Court 1 Gyms. We are strengthening our team and adding more classes at our Court 1 locations for everyone to have time to come and join our classes! We are blessed to have such a great group of clients and cant wait for you to see what our Zumba team is all about! I'm Cat Hanson. I was born and raised in Lansing MI. I started dancing at a young age doing Ballet and polish style dancing at Greater Lansing Ballet Company under artistic director and founder Barbara Banasikowsk Smith. I am a student at Lansing Community College. I started doing Zumba hesitantly in the summer of 2011 and just could not stop! It was a blast!! I went from the back of the class to the front of the class to becoming an instructor all in a short period of time! I could not have done it without the support of my friends and family and fellow zumba go-ers! I took some salsa dance lessons to help with our Latin dance moves before certification. It is a great experience for anyone who wants a dance party while exercising! I have toned up in the stomach, legs and arms and am down 5 lbs and counting! I encourage everyone to grab their water bottles and join in the fun!
