e located just 4 miles south of Starved Rock State Park off Illinois State Highway #178. This rafting trip, although fun for the family is in fact on white water. With this being said we suggest that the rafters have some knowledge and experience with paddling. We will not permit any rafters under the age of 8.

We are sorry to say we are closed for the season. The water has been too low and it is not looking likely to get more. Thank you everyone for your support as always. Have a beautiful rest of the year and we look forward to reopening may of 2026.

It is with great sadness that we must announce the passing of our operator Bob Herbst. Anyone who has ever been rafting will recognize his smile and his infectious laughter. He was the light of VRR and will be missed beyond measure. Please keep our family in your prayers during this difficult time. Also if anyone has any memories with him we would love to hear them ♡

We do intend to carry on his legacy of VRR in the coming years.
