Well the Northern Utah Spring Sling is in the books! And man what a weekend it was! But it all started months ago with designing/redesigning a new course, preparing it for tournament play, then The Fort flooding and having to adjust and move the course around to make an 18 hole playable course in less than 48hrs, all of our participants pushing through rain for 2 rounds all day on Saturday…. But it all culminated on Sunday for our final round and man was it awesome!
Our MA40 group came down to the final hole to decide the winner! Then at The North Fort our MA3 winner sank a 50ft putt on the final hole to win! Right after that our MA2 division went into a playoff for the win! Meanwhile at The Fort, our MA1 winner came from chase card with a blistering round to force a playoff and took it down on the first hole of the playoff! And finally our MPO division was as exciting as it could be with our winner being down 2 strokes with 3 holes to play and he birdied hole 16 & 17 to tie for the lead going into hole 18, he then put his drive 20ft from the pin and cashed the birdie putt to become The 2024 Northern Utah Spring Sling Champion!

I want to give a shoutout to our staff and people who donated their time to help get these courses ready and who came out to help out with everything going on over the weekend. Tyler Bodiker was our Assistant Tournament Director this year for the first time and he was the lifeblood of getting the Spring Sling ready, without him, literally none of this would have been possible. Brett Buttars took time out of what seemed like every day to come out and w**d eat or mow some of the course just to know it would be good and ready for play. Kaleigh Talbot was there all weekend with a smile on her face helping all the players check in, get raffle tickets and answer any and all questions she could. Jace Nixon, or as we referred to him as Chef Nixon, was the guy slaving over the grill all morning and afternoon on Saturday making sure all the burgers and hot dogs were cooked and ready for everyone. The list goes on, but we just wanna say Thank you to everyone who helped make this happen.
It was wet, muddy, slick and exhausting… but hey, it wouldn’t be The Spring Sling if it was nice outside, right?!? 🤦🏻…. It all seriousness, we appreciate each and every one of you who have come out and made this event possible. We will be applying to be an A Tier next year for 2025 and make this event better than ever!
