We took the new car for its second outing to North Georgia to shake it down Saturday night. As soon as we went green in hot laps I found we still had no power under a load. We changed the fuel system , distributer cap, wires and plugs last week to try and ensure we had the problem corrected. Changed out the MSD box last night and that fixed it. Thankful to have isolated the problem and got it resolved, frustrating that it took 2 waisted nights in the process. plan is to test this Friday night at West Alabama and decide where to go from there!

As you’ve all probably seen on our personal
Pages we’ve had to focus on taking care of my
Wife and Mom , but that doesn’t mean progress has come to a stop in the shop. With Melissa’s medical issues and scares , mom being in ICU and then a step down unit for a month and counting along with the weather “rainouts” we haven’t been able to get rolling. We hurt a bunch of parts on my car down in Cochran , and decided to try and improve our program and buy a new car while fixing the “old” car. It’s now nearly ready to be raced again. I’ve taken whatever time I could get away from hospitals and doctors “mostly when everyone is sleeping” and done everything I know to do to make our new car as perfect has I know how to make it. We feel like as a whole our program is by far better than it’s ever been but we need laps now and can’t wait to get back in the swing of things in the next few weeks. As of now the plan is to be at Southern with the Southern Thunder series 8/8/26, then the following weekend with SAS. Hopefully we’re able to find somewhere to test and shakedown the new car the weekend of 8/1 and will update in a week or so.

New car bugs strike, throwing off our whole night.
As any racer will tell you, you never know what night 1 on a new car will bring. Especially since first laps were hot laps. Besides a few step up changes on the car being made we are very happy with the car and can’t wait to get it dialed in. We also fought motor issues all night. First with over heating and then chasing a miss. The over heating issues; we were able to fix after hot laps but the miss stuck around all night.
Due to the miss, we started and parked to keep from tearing anything up. Even with fighting issues there still is no place we all would rather be.
Thank you to everyone that came to hang out last night, and it was great to see some faces we haven’t seen in a while. We love our racing family! Thank you Chase Honeycutt for working your butt off all night as usual. Thank you Amber Kirkland for these awesome pictures, they truly mean so much to us!
Unfortunately we will not be racing tonight, as we go to work to fix the motor issues and do some more tweaking on the car. We will post soon to when and where we are headed next. Good luck to everyone racing tonight!

When you’re chasing your dream, you know no quit. You just keep on fighting even when life tries to knock you down. And life this week has tried to do just that.

After a ruff start to the season, a lot of hard talks and even more praying we decided to go all in on a new car. Things seemed to fall right into place. Last Saturday we unloaded the car and went to work knowing that we would be tight on time to make it for this weekend.

Then Monday morning with no warning Dan was laid off. After the initial shock wore off and some more hard conversations we both decided to keep chasing this dream for as long as we are able right now.

This week Dan has been in the shop non stop getting this car ready. It will go in the box in the morning and we are going racing.

With that being said, we have had to make a few changes to our plans and do what makes sense to us. Tomorrow night we will be at Buckshot Speedway for the Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series race. Saturday will totally depend on how Friday night goes. And we will keep chasing this dream one race at a time!

Graniteville, S.C. (5/7/26) – Officials with the Southern Thunder Super Dirt Series (STSDS) and Senoia Raceway have announced the postponement of Saturday’s $10,000 Peach Blossom Special. 🌧

After more than four inches of rain impacted the facility over the last 24 hours, along with additional wet weather expected throughout the weekend, officials have made the decision to postpone the event in the interest of driver safety. Officials also wanted to allow drivers and teams time to adjust their travel plans and race elsewhere this weekend.

Series and track officials are currently evaluating potential makeup dates for the Peach Blossom Special. A new date will be announced at a later time.

The Southern Thunder Super Dirt Series will now shift its attention to next weekend’s doubleheader on May 15-16. The weekend opens Friday night at Waycross Motor Speedway with the $5,000 Showdown at the Swamp before concluding Saturday at Needmore Speedway for the $7,501 Gene Maine Memorial.
