Good afternoon Sponsors, Family, Friends, and supporters of Garrett Goetsch Racing,
Iāve finally found some time to myself in my busy college life and decided I need to make a statement to everyone involved in my racing life⦠This past year was definitely nothing I had expected to come since I started my racing career, both good and bad. Our year started off amazing, we revealed the great partnership with McPherson Motorsports and put our sponsors on a fresh IMCA SportMod that was able to shine on and off the track. This opportunity to race on another level was nothing but amazing to experience. Through the ups and downs in the beginning of the season we strived to get the 23M machine rolling and feeling good.
Unfortunately, once we got into the rhythm, another whole problem hit us, and me specifically. June 28th after a successful run at TNT Speedway, I experienced a medical condition that was handled well by my mother and sister, as well as Mike and Lindsay who showed up to support her and myself through the time. Also, my friends that came to my house right away after they had heard what had happened meant so much, especially considering that it was 2-3am at this point. Words canāt express how much this devastated me. Not only did this event impact my brand-new opportunity, but also my personal/work life. This cut our season to 5 races, 1 race at Eagle River Speedway, and 4 more at TNT Speedway.
Words cannot explain how upset I was over this incident, there is some belief that I had some control in whether this happened because of my actions, and it has been stuck in my head since. I cannot apologize enough to all of the sponsors and other supporters that had gone out of their way to support me on this new path. My focus began to shift towards the cars necessities instead of my own personal health, and my responsibility for myself had slipped away. Although incidents like this can occur to anyone, I will still take full credit for this season ending how it did. However, there is always light at the end of the tunnel.
Talking further with medical professionals, as long as I retain my responsibilities, there is little to no chance this will ever happen again. And re-evaluating with McPherson Motorsports, we are onboard for another exciting year of IMCA Sportmod racing. With that being said, I am looking to carry all sponsors into next year and will be reaching out to everyone over my holiday breaks in school to keep you all updated on our processes and more sponsorship info.
I am so grateful for this opportunity to get back behind the wheel of a machine Iāve been aspiring to drive for some time now and use my few experiences as a kickstart to another fresh year.
Overall, I cannot thank everyone enough for the amount of support through everything this year, and I cannot wait to reconnect with racing again as it has been eating at me for some time now.
Again, thank you everyone, and we are hoping to put on a great season for everyone to follow next year!
