In 1983, Augie started Pabst Racing to campaign a Tiga Sports 2000 in SCCA Nationals and the Sports 2000 Pro Series. In 1991 his son, Augie III took over management of Pabst Racing. From 1991 to 1997 Augie III drove in the Dodge Shelby Pro Series and the U.S. In 1994 and 1995, Augie finished the season 2nd in the Championship, and missed the Championship by 2 points in 1995. In 1998, Augie decided
to focus on the Services end of the business and devote 100 percent of his time to owning and managing Pabst Racing Services. Since 1991, Pabst Racing Services has maintained a variety of cars including SCCA Spec Racers, Shelby Can-Am, 911 Porsche, Ford Mustang GT-1, and primarily the Ford/Zetec powered Van Diemen Formula 2000 cars. Current Toyota Atlantic contender, Tonis Kasemets and Pabst Racing teamed together from 2001-2003, winning 4 poles and 5 races in Formula 2000.
