On Jan 14, Chicagoland athletes of all ages braved the winter chill and met in Oconomowoc, Wis. to compete in a new competition, the Tundra Challenge. Costumed competitors climbed 200 feet up a snow-laden hill, slipped and slid back down the ice, and raced to complete ten other obstacles over four miles. The quirky event aims to get people out and about in the midst of winter’s worst, and proceeds go to charity. Besides the cold, what’s not to love? Check out the slideshow above for some fun—if chilling—photos from the inaugural event.
