Our Kids NoGi class meets every Thursday at 5:30 PM, and we would love to see your kiddos there!

NoGi Jiu-Jitsu is a great way for kids to build confidence, athleticism, coordination, problem-solving skills, and practical grappling skills — while burning off some serious energy. 😂

Whether your child already trains Jiu-Jitsu or has never stepped on the mats before, they’re welcome to come give it a try!

🥋 9 YEARS A BLACK BELT 🥋

Today we’re celebrating a pretty special milestone for Coach Dave Wallendal — 9 years since receiving his Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt! 🖤

Anyone who trains knows a black belt isn’t simply something you earn and then you’re finished. It represents years of showing up, learning, competing, teaching, evolving — and then continuing to do it all long after that belt is tied around your waist.

Dave is the highest-ranked black belt instructor at Open Guard, and having his experience, knowledge, and perspective on our mats is something we’re incredibly grateful for.

Nine years at black belt means nine more years of learning, teaching, sharpening technique, and helping the next generation of grapplers grow. That’s a whole lot of mat time. 😅

Dave, congratulations on 9 years as a BJJ black belt and thank you for everything you bring to Open Guard and our students. 🥋🤙
