On behalf of the children of Oceanside and the Department of Community Activities, I wanted to take a moment to thank everyone who caringly contributed and volunteered to make the 2025 DOCA/Kiwanis Co-sponsored Winter Wonderland event such a tremendous success!
With the holidays upon us, on Saturday, December 13, 2025 together, we provided a Winter Wonderland celebration that was enjoyed by the entire community, as close to 750 Oceansiders came out for a December day full of festive fun!
The special event started with a Sing-A-Long featuring our talented Middle School & High School Choirs. Thank you for kicking off the Holidays with the sounds of the season and getting everyone into the spirit! After the performance, participants enjoyed a visit from Santa, as he arrived to kick off the festivities. Crowds then made their way to Santa’s Workshop and took a picture with him, all while the elves were busy giving all the happy children a very special present.
Many volunteers including the OHS Key Club, OMS Builders Club, K-Kids and more, helped to create a scenic Winter Wonderland atmosphere, as games were played, prizes were won, crafts were created, wishes were made and faces were painted. Cookie decorating was a huge hit and a very popular sweet treat, generously donated by the Ramalho Family & Tree Service!
The festive mood continued as families enjoyed a Horse Drawn Wagon Ride on the Merle Avenue Track, generously co-sponsored by several community organizations and individuals including Oceanside Kiwanis and Kiwanettes, Fire Department, Chamber of Commerce, Oceanside HS Key Club and Oceanside Community Warriors! After the ride, happy community members warmed their spirit with a delicious cup of hot chocolate and all the fixings…generously donated by the Badalamenti family!
Children were still able to get their letters to Santa, as Santa’s Mailbox was just outside his Workshop! Santa and his elves answered all letters that included a legible return address. This activity is co-sponsored by the Oceanside Department of Community Activities and OHS Key Club…Thank you to the Oceanside Library for helping to collect those special letters for a very special delivery!
The day provided lots of fun activities for everyone…from our youngest children to adults who are young at heart, there were huge smiles all around!
On behalf of the Oceanside Department of Community Activities and the children of Oceanside Community, again many thanks to everyone!
