Meet Tim & Alli - the husband/wife dynamic duo that swept our recent Summer Shred Challenge!
If you don’t know, Zen’s Summer Shred is a 6-week long nutrition challenge that we run leading up to Memorial Day Weekend each year. It’s an opportunity for our community to come together and work collectively towards eating healthier, and cultivating better health habits. We had 27 members and all 4 coaches participate in the 2026 Summer Shred this year, which meant the competition was FIERCE.
At the end of it all, Tim walked away with the grand prize after shedding 14.1 pounds and 4.7% body fat. Alli finished runner up by dropping 10.6LB and 3.3% body fat.
Over 6 weeks they lost a combined 21.27LB of body fat, and their lean muscle mass stayed largely unchanged throughout the process.
These are really impressive numbers on their own, but what makes this whole thing even more incredible is where Tim & Alli started at on day one...
During the Q&A segment of our Summer Shred kickoff event on April 11th, Tim raised his hand and asked, “So what should we eat?” That was a telling moment.
Tim & Alli were coming into the Shred starting at square one. This was certainly going to be an uphill battle, but they approached the whole thing with a white-belt mentality and it served them well.
Within two days they had overhauled their entire fridge.
They absorbed all of the educational content we were providing them, and leaning on their dedicated accountability coach every single day.
Within two weeks they were proudly sharing healthy recipes that they were making with other members of the group.
Probably the most impressive part of this whole thing: they took a trip to Jazz Fest in New Orleans halfway through the Shred, and still managed to stay on track.
There was no magic formula to their success - they ate more protein, vegetables, and fruits. They scaled back on eating out, and on drinking alcohol.
Tim strength trained 4 days per week, and Alli strength trained 2 days per week. They both increased their cardio and steps significantly.
Most importantly, they held each other accountable every step of the way.
Congrats again, Tim & Alli! You guys are an inspiration.
