Second day of tournament! Smiles all around!

Yesterday was our first day of Spring Nationals in New Orleans. Tournament was great with high energy from competitors and judges alike. Two of my high rank students climbed another rung on the ladder. Even with high activity, there was the constant reminder that we had lost one of the pioneers of our sport and life style.

Thank you Chuck Norris. You will be missed.

The martial arts world mourns the loss of Chuck Norris, a true icon whose influence reached far beyond the mat.

An 8th-degree black belt in Taekwondo—becoming the first Westerner to achieve this rank in 1997—he also held a 10th-degree black belt in Chun K*k Do, a 9th-degree in Tang Soo Do, and black belts in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Judo.

While Chuck Norris was a serious and highly disciplined martial artist who took great pride in his training, he also understood something just as important—how to have fun. He became not only known for his incredible martial arts career, but also for the legendary “Chuck Norris” jokes that brought humor to millions.

His legacy reminds us that strength and discipline can exist alongside humility and joy. 💪
