Heads up to our tournament fleet and the entire offshore community! NOAA Fisheries Service Fisheries has officially announced adjustments to the Atlantic Bluefin Tuna daily retention limits for recreational fishermen.
These new regulations go into effect June 1, 2026, and run through December 31, 2026 (unless modified by later action). Whether you're pre-fishing or getting dialed in for the 13th Annual Huk Big Fish Classic this July, make sure your crew is locked into these rules:

📚 13 YEARS The next cover is unwritten.
For over a decade, Coastal Fisherman has been the ultimate record-keeper of what goes down at the Talbot Street Pier scales. But these aren’t just magazine covers they detail an evolution of the Huk Big Fish Classic wrapped up in newsprint, saltwater, and history.

When we started back in 2014, we were a boutique fleet testing out a simple, Heaviest fish wins. Period. Look at how the fleet, the stakes, and the numbers on the board have exploded since that very first lines-in:

2014 (The Beginning): 32 trailblazing boats tested the waters and built a true inaugural payout of $116,980.00. Pumpin' Hard set the tone early, sweeping multiple tiers for a $43K payday.

2016: The word got out. The field expanded sharply to 67 boats, pushing the purse to $333,000.00 as Marli brought a massive 407 lb Blue Marlin to a packed bulkhead.

2020: Despite everything happening in the world, the fleet rallied and officially shattered the million-dollar glass ceiling for the first time, posting a $1,050,000.00 purse.

2025 (The Record-Breaker): Total offshore dominance. A jaw-dropping $1,256,150.00 was handed out on the docks, with Honor taking home a staggering single-boat haul of $458,662.50.

From a $116K local shootout to a multi-million-dollar East Coast offshore tradition the growth belongs entirely to the captains, the crews, the sponsors, and the fans who turn Talbot Street into absolute beautiful chaos every July.
