With a sad and heavy heart, we have decided that this fabulous 2 year run under the WV Dusters 06 will be coming to an end.
As a group , nearly 100 games were won, countless weekends of bringing home some hardware from all over the Midwest & Southeast and most importantly...a brand was made!
We did this the right way. No need to play dirty. No need to put some ridiculous adjective beside our team name to draw unmerited attention.
No need to offer to waive player fees in order to field a team. Sad, we know.
But we played. We went where no one in our area had been going. We played over our head, yet ALWAYS managed to gain respect. Invitations to play with Texas Glory, Va Shamrocks, Outlaws , Lasers, Stingrays and others were earned, not pleaded with or bought.
We carried ourselves the right way both on & off the field and I couldn’t be prouder of that.
Unfortunately in this day and age of travel/AAU sports, it’s 75% crap and 25% good.
Sometimes the majority wins out.
If you’re part of the minority, please keep doing what you do. It’s appreciated & respected.
If you’re part of the pathetic majority, may you reap what you sow.
For those who were either part of our special group or followed & supported the girls, we thank you from the bottom of hearts ♥️.
We tried to set the bar for the younger groups in our organization, so they may have better connections in this softball world.
But sadly enough, its already been brought to our attention by tournament directors & other organization leaders that a new group is trying to use our accomplishments for their own personal gain without putting in the work. Just embarrassing.
But maybe we should take that as a compliment 🤷♂️.
Nonetheless, the closing of a chapter is here.
