The team spent the last couple days dodging raindrops and exploring the scenery on the drive west. A drive through the mountains, frolick in the meadow, camping on a farm, a couple castles, stone circles, stunning coastline and the incredible Ring of Kerry.

Today we said goodbye to our ground crew rockstar, Phil. We are so grateful for your help on this trip and "geocaching" us. We would not have been able to make it as far as we did without your help. So, today was all about Phil and catching a few good sights before he left for home. We hit Hook lighthouse (the oldest intact operational lighthouse in the WORLD) as well as the Blarney Castle so Phil could get his full of castles. Thank you again Phil, you were truly a delight to have around.

Conditions on this coast are driving us to look for more sheltered paddles so we will start frog hopping up towards the wild Atlantic way. Tomorrow we plan to paddle out of Kinsale out to Old Head then drive out to the south west peninsulas to spend a couple days exploring the islands in the rias. Wish us luck!

Day 2: 0 miles. The wind and waves picked up and after Nate had a couple rough dumps it was declared a no-go day for safety concerns. Pending weather we are adjusting plans and route to try and optimize our time here. Fingers crossed we have a fair day tomorrow 🤞🏼

The team took the day to rest and explore the charming little town of Ennescorthy, including checking out our first castle
