🏊‍♀️💦 TEAM SPLASH PARENTS & ATHLETES — SCHEDULE UPDATE! 💦🏊‍♂️

Please take note of our updated Saturday morning practice time:

⏰ 9:00–10:00 AM
📍 Hilliard Parks & Recreation

Hilliard Parks & Rec opens the pool to the public at 10:00 AM on Saturdays, so once practice ends, families are welcome to stay and enjoy the pool and splash pad! ☀️💦 The swim lanes will be removed and the pool will transition to regular public swim.

Please note: If your family chooses to stay after Team Splash practice for public swim, Hilliard Parks & Recreation charges a $3 daily admission per person. This fee is separate from Team Splash.

🏅 STATE GAMES UPDATE

The State Games will be held September 26. As coaches, we will not know which athletes have qualified for State until September 5. These selections are made by our regional Special Olympics directors and are not determined by the Team Splash coaches. We appreciate everyone’s patience while we wait for those results!

Even if your athlete does not advance to State, they are still welcome to attend ALL remaining Team Splash practices! Practices after September 5 are not mandatory for athletes who are not attending State, but we would love for them to continue swimming with us. We will still warm up, work on skills, take times, and hold our traditional practice. 🏊‍♀️🏊‍♂️

🏊‍♀️💙 Team Splash Regional Swim Meet! 💙🏊‍♂️

This past Saturday, August 15, our Team Splash athletes traveled to Ocala for the Regional Swim Meet and what a day! Every athlete showed up, gave it their all, and did an amazing job in the pool. But the best part was watching them cheer each other on and celebrate every swim!

A huge thank you to Coach April, our parents, and volunteers who helped make it such a fun and memorable Saturday for our athletes.

Today was one of those practices! We checked the weather radar, everything looked clear, arrived right on time… and a pop-up shower rolled in. Thankfully, it was just a quick burst of heavy rain that moved out just in time for us to dip our toes in the pool for one last Monday evening practice.

To make it even more special, a beautiful rainbow stretched across the sky for the entire practice a perfect ending to an incredible summer season. 🌈

We wrapped up the evening with a special awards ceremony recognizing our Area 4 athletes and celebrating their hard work, ribbon finishes and swim times. Congratulations to every one of our amazing athletes! We are so proud of you.🥇

A huge thank you to Connie's Pizzaand Miss Shannon Hogue, School Board District 1 for generously providing dinner for our team tonight. Your support means so much to our athletes and their families.

What a great way to close out Monday night practices as we look ahead to Regionals on August 15! 🏊

🏊 Team Splash Update 🏊

As summer comes to an end and the new school year begins, tonight will be our last Monday night practice.

Following our Regional Swim Meet on August 15, we’ll transition to Saturday morning practices from 9:30–10:30 a.m. on the following dates:

August 22
August 29
September 5
September 12
September 19
September 26

These Saturday practices are optional for all athletes, but they will be required for anyone who qualifies for the State Games. We won’t know who has qualified until after Regionals, but we wanted to make sure everyone has these dates on their calendars just in case.

Please stay tuned for more updates as we learn more after the Regional Meet.

If you have any questions, we’ll be happy to answer them at practice this evening.

🍕 And don’t forget… we’re ending practice a few minutes early for pizza!

🏊‍♂️ Team Splash Reminder!

Just a quick reminder that we have practice tomorrow night, Monday, August 3, from 6:00–7:00 PM.

We’ll wrap up a few minutes early so everyone can enjoy Connie’s Pizza as we celebrate our Area 4 ribbon winners! 🎉🏅🍕

We can’t wait to see everyone tomorrow! 💙

🏊‍♀️💙 Congratulations Team Splash! 💙🏊‍♂️

A BIG congratulations to all of our Team Splash athletes for successfully completing the 2026 Special Olympics Area Games!

Thank you to our amazing volunteers, coaches and parents for all the hard work, time and dedication it took to get us to this day. Watching these athletes cheer each other on, celebrate one another and truly become a team has been so special.

And a BIG thank you to The Arc Nassau for sponsoring our Team Splash shirts this season! We were proud to show up together and represent our team!

Way to go, Team Splash! We are so proud of every single one of you! 🥇

🏊 Good morning, Team Splash! Happy Monday!

Just a reminder that practice is scheduled for this evening from 6:00–7:00 p.m. We are closely monitoring the tropical storm weather moving into our area, and the current forecast shows a 76% chance of rain. We will make a final decision about practice by 4:00 p.m. today, so please keep an eye on GroupMe and our Team Splash page for updates.

If practice is canceled, we’ll still share all of the important information you need for the Area 4 Swim Meet on Saturday, July 25, so be sure to check for those updates as well. Thank you!
