Dear friends and family of this page, it is with a heavy heart that I have decided it is time to permanently close this page🥺 it has recently come to my attention that someone somewhere tried to hack the messenger attached to this page to send what I can only imagine was the initial contact leading up to a scam to one of our neighbors. I have been the legacy holder for this page in the years since we lost my beloved Husband, our amazing Sensei because I wanted this page to be a place where his children and students could remember him and share memories of him but I can not allow it to be used to disgrace his memory like that. I will wait until the end of June to shut it down, that will give everyone about 45 days to have an opportunity to save any pictures or videos you may have posted here because I do not know it they will continue to show up in your FB memories once the page is no longer accessible. Again I want to apologize for this decision Charles and I enjoyed the time we had with each of you in the Dojo and it was a big disappointment to him that we had to let the building go because teaching martial arts was one of the greatest joys of his life. Please let me know in the comments that you have received this notification. I will try to remember to check in with everyone one last time at the end of June just before I disable this page to make sure everyone has saved what they want. However I will apologize now incase I fail to do so. My family is dealing with some other medical issues that will require an abundance of appointment that we will be dealing with this summer. I hope that you continue to remember Charles from time to time, please know you are welcome to contact me directly if you have photos and things to share. The last 24 hours have been some of the worst of my life as most of you know my family is mourning the passing of my beloved husband friend and father of 7. It has been so hard to stay away from social media and local news outlets today as they began to report on the circumstances surrounding his death. My home has been filled with love and compassion from sooo many friends and family members and there are more on the way. Moving into this small quiet little town have him a fresh start and an opportunity to make connections with Soo many people how have helped him cope with a disorder that made him question everything he knew he was good at.i want everyone to know that arrangements have been made and even if I have not spoken to you personally it does NOT mean I don't want you there that WHY I am posting the arrangements that have been made below. He was a wonderful father who loved his children with all he had, he thought karate and took great pride in his students, he loved coaching football and he loved his players I can not stress how proud he was when the Oblong jfl brought home not 1 but 2 championships this season, he genuinely cared about his friends even when the weight of the world was on his shoulders, I pray that I have done everything I could to give everyone who's life he touched an opportunity to make their own peace with what has happened. I have been ask a thousand times today what could be done to help and so it is with a heavy heart that I ask that you please refrain from sending an overwhelming amount of flowers that we will have to bring home and watch wither away instead please donate anything you feel you are able to the memorial fund set up by the funeral director to help cover these tragic and unexpected expenses and know that I am eternally greatful for all of your thoughts and prayers durring this difficult time!!!!

I know it has been a long time since we posted on here. We are trying to gauge the level of interest if we were to open the dojo again. We are asking everyone's advice to see what would work best for all the students. Please leave a comment here if you are still interested in classes. Also if you have any suggestions as to class times and alternate places to hold class at? We have thought about the community center( classes would be held and payment would be a per class payment) repairing our garage to hold classes ( this will cost a fare ammount of money so we would need to know if students are coming back or not for us to justify spending the money.)

Who is missing karate? I know I am for sure! Plans are being drawn up to retrofit our garage into our new dojo. We plan to have a booth at the fall follies announcing our grand reopening as well as have a float in the parade. Please keep praying that everything will work out and we will be back to kicking and punching our hearts out before we know it!!!

It with a heavy heart and sadness that hard to bear I announce the temporary closing of the Oblong Dojo. Summer has taken a heavy toll on the amount of students in attendance. We simply can't afford to operate the Dojo at a loss. We are planning on working on a plan b to open in November which will give us time to get plan b ready for students. I want to thank Chad Pusey and Mary Lou Pusey you both have been extremely supportive of our Club and I'm sorry I couldn't keep it going. You have an awesome fitness center blue line fitness! Students I am so sorry if I have failed you as a Sensei and I assure you that if you will patiently wait till November we will be back up and teaching and I would be honored to remain your Sensei.

There will be Camp Karateka tomorrow at the dojo and it will be free of charge. All are welcome to come train with some really awesome instructor. Our Master Instructor Mitch Saret, Master Charles Mick Jr, Sensei Jason Snider, and Sensei Jesse Ackley. Training will be from 12 noon till 4pm and we will be doing a lock in to follow as long as the heat isn't to much! Hope all can make it!!!
