As we get ready for the start of the Cross Country season, we are excited to feature one of the most decorated distance runners in Oberlin history, Geno Arthur (Class of 2016), for our August Alumni Spotlight!
-----
A Biology major, Geno graduated as one of Oberlin's most accomplished distance runners. He is a three-time DIII First-Team All-American in Cross Country and Track & Field, a seven-time national qualifier, and a nine-time North Coast Athletic Conference champion. Geno excelled as a scholar athlete and was a six-time Academic All-American.

While at Oberlin, Geno was a tutor in the Ninde Scholars Program for high school students in the community, served as a Bonner Scholar, and worked as a teaching assistant for the Biology Department. He also volunteered at the Kendal Retirement Home Community.

Post-Oberlin, Geno worked for the Student Conservation Association and the Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens. At the Student Conservation Association, he helped build the organizational infrastructure to recruit and communicate with volunteers. While at the Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens, he contributed to positive visitor experiences and to the financial sustainability of the conservatory.

Geno currently works as a Development Coordinator for the Hanna Perkins Center for Child Development, a nonprofit organization centered around strengthening the emotional well-being of children and their support networks. His work helps support the organization by strengthening the fundraising and communications systems that support the organization’s programs.
