Oakland Dont Play (ODP) is a socially conscious clothing brand founded on September 11, 2020, by Oakland native Shauncy “Salt” Jackson in response to racial discrimination and gentrification in the city. Rooted in community pride and activism, ODP creates bold apparel inspired by Oakland’s culture and neighborhoods, serving as both fashion and a statement of resistance. More than a brand, ODP is a movement that stands for justice, equality, and local pride. In 2022, it opened a storefront in Oakland, becoming a community hub for connection and events.
