CALLING ALL *SINGERS*

If I released a free Facebook Group for singers focused on performance and started sharing with you:

1. How to gain the freedom to sing your favorite songs even if they’re out of your range right now

2. HOW TO SING WITHOUT STRAINING OR HARMING YOUR VOICE

3. The Exact Process I’ve used to grow my voice from small and thin to one so big that it surprises audiences (even my friends and family sometimes.)

Comment "Yes or no" below.

I've been preparing to mentor a much bigger audience this year and have A LOT of knowledge to share around building a voice that keeps going and going with the range and power that amazes you and your audience.

When you sign up for our Vocal Infinity program, this is just one of the perks that you'll be getting.

It's a step-by-step system for breathing and support so your fundamentals are solid.

Once you take advantage of this system, you'll won't have to worry about losing your voice, stamina, or power again.

Interested?

STRATEGY IN SINGING. Let’s say you want to punctuate a phrase. Let’s say you want to make an interval more consistently. What do you? Insert an AB (artistic break) aka release. Watch as workshops the mechanics of phrasing for one of his originals. You can see him figure it out. He asks all the right questions to get there.

Vocal coach Terence Ma talks with movement experts Mike Guadango (Freak Strength) and Alex Brooker about the myths and methods of attaining vocal growth through movement and exercise. You don’t want to miss this if you’re a singer!

What do you do when you get dragged to a bar and it’s not quite your scene? Well, you practice your voice work! I grabbed a random and hosted a free workshop. Big thanks to you girl! You killed it.

SONG PRACTICE. Are you practicing correctly? If you’re singing all the way through your songs all the time, you’re not. It’s about isolating and attacking your problems down to the syllable. This is a throwback to when I was practicing in a bathroom (1 of 2 mirrors available) in an in Whampoa, Hong Kong I shared with my sister . Needless to say, I was distracted. Don’t be like me. Practice where you won’t be disturbed. 🇭🇰

Sound better in less than sixty seconds! When you have a note that’s a little lackluster, remember your vowels. Be loyal to the vowels in the words and the tone will come! I instructed to just sing the ee and even though it came out “here” anyway, it came out properly because she was still focused on the proper ee. Go figure. •

Here’s Terence warming up with the vocalization procedure outside during his travels in Hong Kong. In this clip, you’ll hear an Ah-oo-Ah exercise.

🗣
The purpose of the ah-oo-ah is to open the “backwards nose” or the resonances in the head. It might be the most important exercise to maintain the voice because of its ability to encapsulate the natural feel of singing. In the vocalization sequence, it begins the first stretching of the vocal folds and has them rapidly returning to resting position. It is also the first exercise in the sequence with an interval of more than a whole step. It aids in keeping the voice pleasant but still sounding organic and not too trained.

🗣
What you see Terence doing is listening and feeling for a “resistance,” or an inconsistency in airflow that indicates dysfunction or a lack of activation in the vocal folds. Once a resistance is detected, the exercise stops and is replaced with another that will address the “resistance.” ***Note: the whole vocalization process takes anywhere from 7-20 minutes. Feel free to leave any questions in the comments or DM. Let me know what you’d like to see next!

As promised, this is Terence beginning his mobile warm up. In the bathroom. Using the Piano 3D app, he vocalizes as usual but with some clumsiness due to the narrow keys and lack of physical landmarks for his fingers. In addition, he has a sister (see: ) in the other room committing all sorts of distracting randomness. With the chaotic stimuli, he screws up the roam of his vocalization and is forced into his standard starting pitch. What do you think of his technique otherwise?
