For 31 years, Oakland’s Día de los Mu***os Festival has filled the Fruitvale with music, altares, and community. 🧡
Join us Sunday, November 1, 10 AM to 5 PM at Fruitvale Village for a free, family-friendly day of live music, games, rides, traditional artisans, and stunning altares honoring los mu***os.
This year, a 34-foot La Catrina stands tall at the Fruitvale Transit Village. Handcrafted by master artisans in Mexico City, she’s a symbol of Mexican culture, artistry, and the connection between Oakland and Mexico. We were honored to be there for her welcoming ceremony when she first arrived in the Fruitvale.
La Catrina is on display through October before becoming the centerpiece of the festival on Nov. 1, so come see her before she’s gone!
See you there family!
