Home games be like 🤩🪩

Girls are twice as likely to drop out of sports than boys by age 14, with roughly 45% to over 60% of girls quitting by their mid-teens.

Girls rugby is rapidly growing and we take pride in building a safe and comfortable environment for our girls to thrive and be confident within.

This past weekend Oakland Ikuna Rugby historically hosted all Girls High School CLUB rugby tournament style matches!! Well into our third season and this was a first for us. Bringing so many young women from different parts of the town and their families together to finally have a HOME game. An Oakland centered game right in the heart of our Community at Castlemont Highschool. As we continue to advocate and celebrate our athletes, we are proud to say this is the first of many to come.

Thank you to our sister clubs that joined us; Berkeley, Liberty, & Chico for making this day such a special experience.

Adriana has ALL STAR experience and is a versatile player. Bringing a lot of positive energy, confidence and is definitely a impactful support to our team this year. Today was a beautiful day for Rugby. Though we are an independent club, so much gratitude to Lamorinda Rugby for the support and allowing our girls to play this sport we all love. Seeing their faces light up once they touched the pitch, reminds us of why we keep going!!

With exactly 10 girls (no subs) Oakland Ikuna Rugbys HS Girls went undefeated today at NorCals 2026 Ben Williams Kick Off Tournament!! 🙏🏽🙌🏽
