Let’s celebrate 9‑year‑old Legend Gabourel — your new USA Weightlifting Youth National Champion. USA Weightlifting

Legend just won the U11 National Championship at only nine years old.

Just 3-weeks ago, young Legend had an accident playing in the park that put him in Children’s Hospital — emergency surgery, ICU, the whole thing. UCSF Benioff Children’s

And now he’s standing on the podium with 3 gold medals around his neck.

Heart & Strength.

We’ve been through a lot these last few months fighting for our community. And still… we’re bringing wins back home to Oakland.

Respect to young Noah.

He trained hard all year for Nationals and was ready to do something big. Yesterday he had to undergo eye surgery, and he’s got a tough recovery ahead.

This kid has dealt with health challenges his whole life. When I asked him how he stays steady through it all, he just smiled and said: “I just go with the flow. Things will always work out.”

Straight‑A student. Confident. Strong.

He is the type of young leaders we need in this world. Send this young man some love as he heals up.

Our documentary short about the fight for our program, our kids, and our community has been officially selected for the 25th San Francisco Documentary Festival.

From City Hall concrete to festival screens — this little 5‑minute film has now been selected to 8 festivals and has brought home 5 awards so far. Grateful.

Huge appreciation to for championing bold, independent stories. Their mission says it all: discovering new nonfiction films and giving space to the work you won’t find at the multiplex.

For the record I can be accurately relentlessly persistent.
