Leighton H Drives In 5 To Lead OMS Lady Eagles Past Sunbright Middle School

Leighton H drove in five runs on two hits to lead OMS Lady Eagles past Sunbright Middle School 15-7 on Thursday. Leighton tripled in the second inning, scoring three runs, and singled in the first inning, scoring two.
OMS Lady Eagles opened the scoring in the top of the first thanks to two singles. OMS Lady Eagles first got on the board when Kelsey S singled, scoring two runs.
OMS Lady Eagles scored five runs on one hit in the top of the second inning. An error scored one run, Elizabeth P was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, and Leighton tripled, scoring three runs.
OMS Lady Eagles added to their early lead in the top of the third inning after OMS Lady Eagles scored on a passed ball, and Sunbright Middle School committed an error, each scoring one run.
Natali K earned the win for OMS Lady Eagles. The righty allowed seven hits and seven runs (three earned) over four innings, striking out four and walking six. Makayla C took the loss for Sunbright Middle School. The starting pitcher went four innings, surrendering 15 runs (11 earned) on six hits, striking out four and walking six.
Kelsey and Leighton each collected two hits for OMS Lady Eagles. Natali led OMS Lady Eagles with four walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, piling up six walks for the game. Kelsey and Natali each stole multiple bases for OMS Lady Eagles. OMS Lady Eagles ran wild on the base paths, tallying eight stolen bases for the game.
N W drove the middle of the lineup, leading Sunbright Middle School with two runs batted in. The right fielder went 2-for-3 on the day. Whitley G, Aliya T, and N each collected two hits for Sunbright Middle School. Lilly D paced Sunbright Middle School with two walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, piling up six walks for the game. Paisley A stole two bases.
