Father and son score their first-ever muskies on the same day! 13-year-old Brody Garza casted all morning and was rewarded early afternoon with a shallow water beauty that hit on the end of his cast. Then, about an hour later, dad Brandon nailed his musky, and it was THICK!
Moments like today—all the smiles and excitement—are exactly why I love guiding. Way to go Garza family!

October is a wrap, and what a month! Highlights include:
- My client John came within half an inch of tying the state record catch and release white bass at a whopping 19”!
- The Head Coach of Minnesota State University Esports jumped in the boat! A video game coach at the college level 😮—and he scored his first two muskies.
- A 12-year-old scored a 20” smallmouth bass
- This month’s bragging rights go to the women, who scored big time on their trips!

A September to remember in the guide boats!
I had clients land there very first Muskies, personal bests, and largest northern pike. We had lots of close encounters at the boat with some getting hooked on the figure eight move. I had so much fun with so many terrific people. Bring on October!

The month of August was a blast in the guide boats. It was great getting the Canada smoke to let up and for us to finally start targeting Muskies again with the lower water temps. Musky fishing is now in full power mode. Thanks to the clients that frequent regularly, and nice to meet a bunch of you. Here are a handful of highlights, including a big crappie that hit a bass plug, and a gar!

Thanks to all who hopped in my boat this July. The water temps were too hot for musky fishing for the most part but we got a few trips in. Thanks to those who switched to action trips during the hot times. Here are a few pics of the fun.

As the spring trips wind down, I’d like to thank everyone who has joined me in the boat thus far.
