This special hands-on event is open to boys and girls ages 10-17 who want to see what Scouting is all about. You’ll get to rotate through four fun survival skill stations:

⛺ Tent Setup

Whether you’re already interested in camping or just looking for something fun to try, this is a great opportunity to meet our Scouts, make new friends, and experience the adventure of Scouting.

🎯 Shooting Sports Extravaganza! 🏹 🔫

Our Scouts had an awesome weekend at Camp Hi-Sierra in Long Barn for the Motherlode Shoot Campout! They got to try a variety of shooting sports, spent time together, and enjoyed the great outdoors. 🌲⛺

From archery and rifle to slingshots, tomahawks, black powder, paint ball and more. There was something for everyone! 🏕️🔥

Thank you to Adam for coming to our Scout Fishing Day EVERY YEAR! He is the best!

CDFW wildlife officer Adam Cahn recently joined Cub Scout Pack 365 in Oakdale for a fun day of fishing and hands on learning. Warden Cahn enjoyed sharing his passion for fishing and used a banana to demonstrate and instruct the scouts how to safely remove an embedded fishhook. This lesson quickly came in handy, when the same technique was later used to safely unhook and release a turtle that had accidentally been caught on a scout’s line.

Experiences like this are a true highlight of the job for wildlife officers, help inspire the next generation of outdoor enthusiasts and remind us that every day in the outdoors provides opportunities to learn, conserve and protect California’s wildlife.

😴 Camp Life: Nap Edition!

With days this full, sometimes you just have to recharge! Between merit badges, water activities, and adventures all over the island, our scouts (and leaders!) found time to squeeze in a few well earned naps.

Proof that we played hard AND rested hard. 💤

👏 Shoutout to Our Leaders!

Camp doesn't happen without our adult volunteers! We had 7 leaders attend camp this week, and they stayed busy. Many completed trainings, and most jumped right in on all the troop activities, from bike rides to war canoe to the Aquacade!

One leader even had to cook a dutch oven meal for training and stole one of our scouts for some tips. The peach cobbler turned out amazing! 🍑😋

🔥 Campfire Nights!

We had two camp wide campfires this week, Monday and Friday, filled with skits and songs from the scouts. Always a highlight of camp! 🎭🎶

Friday night was July 3rd, and just as the campfire ended, a huge firework show lit up the sky from a neighboring harbor! 🎆 What perfect timing for an unforgettable end to the evening.

Lots of our scouts also earned their Firem'n Chit award this week, learning fire safety and responsibility. 🔥

🐠 Aquarist Award!

For this one, scouts caught their very own fish right from the harbor, then cared for it in an aquarium all week long! Feeding, monitoring, and learning what it takes to keep a healthy tank.
A hands-on way to learn about marine life care. Great job, scouts!
