Missy!!! We asked our runners to share some of themself…

Their reasons, their struggles, their setbacks.

I actually teared up reading this Missy. You are incredible and I can’t thank you enough for sharing some of your journey with us 🙏 ❤️

For context, Last Trail Standing is my dads memorial race where I put the empty chair in the woods that represents the ones we’ve lost along the way. I call it “dads chair”

“I started running in 2016 after realizing I needed to get healthy for my kids (lost both of my parents in my 20’s) and get away from some self destructive behaviors. I quickly fell in love with it and met some incredible people in the running community that have become life long friends. That was until Hashimoto’s disease (autoimmune that affects the thyroid) brought on significant weight gain and indescribable exhaustion. I’ve adjusted incorporating run/walk intervals but still felt discouraged.

In an attempt to find “fun” in running again I decided to give trail running a try last year in 2025. A newbie to trail running I started looking for trail races—which lead me to The last trail standing last November. Ironically I’d just lost a very dear running friend to cancer just a few weeks prior to race day. When I stood there at the start and heard the story of the chair in the woods…I was brought to immediate tears yet somehow I felt like I was lead to be there. I took the memory of my friend into the woods with me. I ran not just for me but for him too.”

In just 6 weeks, she has:

💪 Gained 1.5 lbs of muscle
🔥 Lost 4.4 lbs of body fat
📉 Reduced body fat percentage by 2.6%
❤️ Lowered visceral fat by 1 level

Those are incredible changes, but what they really represent is her consistency, patience, and showing up day after day.

Building muscle while losing body fat isn’t easy. It takes hard work, trust in the process, and a commitment to long-term health. Lauren has done exactly that, and we’re incredibly proud of her.

☀️ Keep your kids active, confident, and having fun this summer!

Our Summer Youth Fitness Program (1st–4th Grade) is designed to help kids build healthy habits, learn movement skills, make friends, and discover that exercise can be something they genuinely enjoy.

📅 July 6th – August 14th
🕙 Mondays & Fridays | 10:45–11:45 AM
👟 Led by Coach Ashley Majors and team

One of the things that makes this program so special is our station-based format. We can separate kids into small groups and tailor exercises, reps, and challenges based on their age, ability, and experience level. This allows every child to be appropriately challenged while still having fun and feeling successful.

Sessions includes:
✅ Fun exercise stations
✅ Games and challenges
✅ Team-based activities
✅ Age-appropriate strength & conditioning
✅ Confidence-building opportunities

Most importantly, we create a positive, encouraging environment where kids feel supported, included, and excited to come back.

Whether your child plays sports, has endless energy to burn, or simply needs a fun way to stay active this summer, this program meets them where they are and helps them grow.

🔥 Our Summer Middle School Strength & Conditioning Program is on FIRE!

We sold out our first camp of 24 athletes in just ONE WEEK, and due to the demand we opened a second summer camp.

As of today, we only have 8 spots remaining!

📅 June 23rd – August 13th
🕐 Tuesdays & Thursdays | 1:15–2:15 PM
👥 For Middle School Athletes (5th–8th Grade)
🏋️ 16 total training sessions
💪 Focus on strength development, movement mechanics, coordination, and athletic performance

Led by Coach Jen Rogers with Coaches Rachael Romanus and Ashley Majors.

Beyond the workouts, this program is about building confidence, creating healthy habits, and giving kids a welcoming environment where they can learn how to train the right way while having fun.

💲 Introductory price: $249 for the full 8-week program.

This week a group of our Sweat Bar athletes will be taking on the challenge of HYROX New York City! 🏃‍♂️💪

😅 Months of early mornings, tough workouts, sled pushes, lunges, rowing, running, and showing up consistently have led to this moment. We couldn’t be more proud of the work they’ve put in and the commitment they’ve shown.
