What a weekend for my YG!!!! Started out playing early Saturday morning. Got 3 innings in before rain set it and caused the tournament to be postponed until Sunday. Started over on Sunday morning, had a really scary injury in our first game of the day that shook us all up!! Pitcher got lined drived. She went to urgent care to be checked out and we believe all is well!!! She returned to the tournament later in the day wanting to play but doctors thought it best if she just take it easy so she cheered us on. Seeing her back at the field all smiles and helping with warmups was a real blessing!!!
Game 1 of the day we found ourselves down 9-2 at one point but found a way to come back and win 10-9.
The girls didn’t let up from there. Game 2, W 11-1, game 3, W 11-1, championship game, W 13-2.
They were so aggressive running bases that I got caught slippin. Girl was running hard to second, I neglected to give her the stop sign and she kept rollin. My slip caused her to get in a pickle and get tagged out 😬. They ran that way all day, forcing teams to speed up and make mistakes. Obviously scoring 45 runs on the day our offense was clicking!! I’ve said it before, when we hit like we’re capable, and play that aggressive, we’re a tough team to handle.
Defense was solid. We usually walk away complaining about not talking enough. Calling the ball. We didn’t mention any of that after this tournament. I believe the message is finally sinking in!
Turned out to be a great weekend and as always, we’re super proud of our crew. This one is even more special because in addition to the rings and chains you normally receive, we also won a $500 cash prize!
Cha-Ching YG🥎😂
Let’s gooooooo😂
