Oak Ridge Track Club Our mission is to promote fitness and well-being in the Oak Ridge (TN) community and surrounding are The Club was organized to promote running and fitness.

The Oak Ridge Track Club organizes, sponsors, and helps with running events, track and field events, and triathlons throughout the year. These include the non-competitive Resolution Run, the Norris Dam Challenge 12k, and numerous 5ks. We also support the children’s triathlon and the KTC’s summer track program for children. Members also help out with club sponsored events to ensure safety and the e

njoyment of those people who participate. Running, fitness and the resultant good health are attainable for people of all ages and abilities.

After decades of service to the adults and youths of the Oak Ridge running and fitness communities, the Oak Ridge Track Club will be dissolving its organization as of April 30th, 2019. Flagging membership and volunteerism have necessitated this move - as the officers and board can no longer sustain their commitments with the degree of comprehensiveness that we were once capable of.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank the City of Oak Ridge, the city police department, the parks and recreation department, and the city school system for all of their support throughout the years. We would also like to thank the hundreds of members and volunteers (both former and present) who have helped to support the club over the past few decades. We hope that you continue to work toward personal and community health goals.

Any current members who would like a pro-rated reimbursement of their membership fees, please contact our treasurer, Linda Davis (cell: 865-201-5529), by April 30th.
Sincerely,
The Oak Ridge Track Club Board of Directors

For 50 years the Oak Ridge Track Club has been actively involved in the community - sponsoring everything from half-marathons to 5K’s, kids’ triathlons to summer programs, and fun runs to organized workouts. Although the club continues to organize activities, times are changing - membership has fallen off and volunteers are nearly non-existent.
With that in mind, the board and officers of the club have decided to make an appeal to the community at-large in order to determine whether the club should continue its role in the community, or to simply dissolve.
We are asking members and folks in and around the community at large to visit our website (http://www.oakridgetrackclub.org) and our page (https://www.facebook.com/Oak-Ridge-Track-Club-184203828266634) and consider whether the Oak Ridge Track Club should continue serving in the greater Oak Ridge community. If so, we would like to hear from you. If you value our mission to support the running community and sponsor running events, please become a member, a volunteer, an officer, or a member of the board. We can only succeed if you participate!
Please let us know your thoughts about this issue by Jan. 1, 2019. That is when the club will meet to determine its fate. New energetic members and volunteers would certainly be welcome.
Please contact us via email at [email protected] if you are available to help serve the Oak Ridge Running and Fitness Community.
Thank you,
Board of Directors - Oak Ridge Track Club
