When the XFDA was formed in the fall of 2020, four WFPG shooters—including Parttime—were permanently banned from competing due to their exceptional abilities. Notably, none of the four had ever been defeated in a sanctioned match by Brad the Quick—the XFDA’s “shooting star” by default and formerly just the WFPG’s fifth-place holder.

Five years later, Parttime and Gator—founder of Extreme Cowboy Fastdraw—have been immortalized in the lair of their rivals, with mannequins depicting the ECF Podcast. Few honors are greater than being banned for talent and mocked for notoriety.

The red coat was a brilliant touch—though, admittedly, Mongoose could have tucked in his gut a bit for the photo.

Updated fastest times, fastest time averages and individual speed index’s as of our 2025 world championship.

Edit: We discovered one mistake: Outlaw Kid's ISI should be .541, not .510. It will be corrected...🙂👍

To all WFDA shooters who shot their first WFPG match this past weekend August 2nd and 3rd:

The ISI you were assigned before the match was calculated using the average of all your 15' shots from several of your most recent WFDA matches plus a fair "cushion" in the hundredths of a second. If your average was .500 or slower the cushion added was .04 of a second, ie: a .500 average resulted in a .540 ISI. If your average was .499 or faster the cushion added was .03 of a second, ie: a .400 average resulted in a .430 ISI.
Going forward, your ISI can go down but never get higher. It will be calculated using the average of your fastest single shots from each round in the most recent WFPG match, in this case the match this past weekend. You'll be able to find your most recent fastest shot average on the WFPG website at wfpgofficial.com. Go there, select "shooters" then select the class you shoot in, and that'll take you to a list of all the shooters in that class. Your fastest shot average will be in the far right column, so take that and add the appropriate cushion to determine your current ISI.

We really enjoyed having all you WFDA first-timers join us this past weekend and we're looking forward to the next one, your place or ours, our format or yours. Happy trails...🙂

The 2-day 2025 WFPG World Championship in Newkirk, Oklahoma is in the books. It was a great one with many "nail-biter" faceoffs. It was also our first sanctioned match to include our new equipment rules, which pretty much mirror the World Fast Draw Association equipment rules. As suspected, from 14' or farther out no gun or holster variations resulted in any advantages or disadvantages and the times registered were 100% the result of the individual shooters' performances, so the first run under those new rules was a total success and we intend to continue with those rules. That concept should have been adopted long ago instead of the sport having stock gun thumbing-only rules and ridiculous totally senseless primadonna holster rules, but nobody apparently had enough nerve to try it until our fearless leader Parttime, aka Dusty Damrel stepped up to the plate and eliminated that insanity, which by the way was definitely not old west period correct. They all shot what they brung and now we do, too.

Anyhow, many thanks to Mike Landis and James Tinsley and their whole crew for providing the venue and targets and backdrop, etc., you're all very much appreciated as usual. Thanks also to Kelly Norvelle aka Kurley Kue for calling commands and handling the entry fee and new membership duties, and to Belinda Green aka Bee Stinger and Jamie Damrel aka Plain Jane for their usual flawless scorekeeping. You're all appreciated for pulling off yet another smooth WFPG competition.

Congrats to the winners of all three classes:
Big Iron: Open Class
Ol' Grouch: Masters Class
Parttime: .300 Invitational Class. Congrats also to Big Iron and Tomcat Charlie for advancing to the Masters Class, and to Marshall Mike for earning his .300 pin and advancing to the .300 Invitational Class. Great shooting!

We enjoyed seeing you all, and happy trails to all till next time...🙂
